When where they first discovered?
Ever wondered how mealworms made their way to our kitchens? There is some debate about when and where mealworms were first discovered. Some say they were first noticed on potatoes ( hence, they received the name Colorado potato beetles). Others say that they were first discovered in Mexico. They were first said to have attached themselves to weeds, and when the pioneers began to grow potatoes, they chose to spread amongst the potato plants instead. Eventually they were transported with potatoes to different parts of the world.
